Sharing Insights on the Qualities of a Leader at Shenghe Morning Self-Study

Jenny was honored to be invited as a facilitator for the Shenghe Morning Self-Study, where she shared her insights on the qualities of a leader with fellow entrepreneurs.

Jenny explained that people might wonder whether care and strictness were contradictory, and whether they could coexist. She said that the answer was yes—they complemented each other. She shared that when leaders showed care, their subordinates felt supported, which helped build trust and made it easier for them to accept criticism while maintaining a positive attitude.

However, Jenny emphasized that true care was not only about being gentle. She noted that leaders also needed to take strict measures, when necessary, to ensure their subordinates achieved long-term growth. She described this “strict love” as being grounded in future expectations and said it helped subordinates overcome challenges through sincere feedback.

Jenny concluded that when care and strictness coexisted, they created a balance between support and challenge—promoting both individual and team development. In Hong Kong’s fast-paced environment, she highlighted that this leadership approach was especially important, because it strengthened team cohesion and helped create a positive workplace where every member could grow in a caring environment.
